Great day, great site, it really does have a WW2 feel to it. Big thanks to Tim, Lutz, Matt, Gavin and Gareth for all their hard work and doing such an awesome job, especially to Lutz as our CO, it must have been hard work trying to keep us in line  , also thanks to Gordon our Gruppenfuehrer for commanding our stubborn defence of the Vaterland and to the rest of the Zug who showed real camaraderie. I enjoyed the role of Sani, it was more realistic having to run around tending to the wounded (those guys must have been fit, or maybe I'm just old  ), but I did regret getting fully kitted up as I was knackered halfway through the day :slap:. Improvements? the only thing I would say would be to echo Tim's comments to have a more varied structure and slow the pace occasionally (which I agree would be hard on such a small site), but other than that excellent :good:

That was a great day, thanks to the organisers and commanders for a well planned day's fighting. My squad was fighting the British most of the day and didn't see the Americans until the last battle which is amazing considering the size of the site. Thanks to Lutz and Matt for keeping us in line all day! Thanks to Tony and everyone at Rift, that's a great little site. :good:

As has been said before, thanks to the organisers for putting on an excellent game!

A hugely entertaining day. Excellent use of props (and tomato sauce); I thoroughly enjoyed the artillery bombardment at the beginning, and crawling on my belly to (often fruitlessly) avoid the withering barrage of fire from Jerry as we cleared the minefield and barbed wire.

It was a beautiful site, perfect for the theme of the day, and the weather was suspiciously perfect (well done whoever completed the blood ritual for that). The day being full on felt appropriate for the site, and whilst things were quite shooty, it didn't feel out of place for the scenario.

Again, thanks to the organisers for a great time! :good:

Nowt wrong with a bit of shooty action, particularly when you are using single shot/bolties and limited ammo. No spray n pray at all.
There were enough pauses to regroup and try different tactics on the objectives. Being pinned down behind a dirt mound by an MG42 in a building window was extremely cool, very frustrating and awsome.

Oh and to top it all, I got two pistol kills. :good:

I just hope I look reasonable in Pedro's pictures :(

Great day indeed. Well done to all the organisers and well played everyone. As has been said the feat of keeping everyone separate until the coalescence at the end was masterfully done.

Yes there was a lot of shooting and a lot of dying but that was inevitable on a site of that size. I got through a load of BBs but half of those were down to my temperamental sten mags which insisted on waiting until full before ejecting 65 BBs directly back into my face on numerous occasions. But there were still several times when I managed to run out of ammunition, which is always a good sign and makes life interesting.

I thought the site was really good, the buildings and bunkers were just right and the set dressing was brilliant, it must have taken ages but it together with the artillery and the excellent uniform turnout by all, made this a fully rounded experience.

The only thing I would have changed would have been the ability to throw grenades in to the building and/or to have ricochets in confined spaces count as hits!

But I think the best thing I can say is that on the way up I was looking forward to it but probably only a 7 out of 10. But I had such a good time that I’m already 9 out of 10 for Kasserine Pass and am desperately trying to put off getting all my kit together for that already.

Well done indeed chaps.

Oh and even with, or may be because of, the dodgy shoulder I got a grenade kill! Hurrah!

Cheers
Charlie

Oooh, that would have made life easier. At one point we resorted to throwing sticks in the windows of the buildings and going "bang". Over in the British sector we thought it was no pyros in buildings as did the jerries, as one was very indignant when he got grenaded by his own side. That was very funny

Cheers

As Tim said, just the bunkers. ;) Trust me, Matt and Lutz on this, you'd appreciate that rule if you'd ever been in one when a grenade went off.

Great game guys!

Really good fun.

Highlights were Charlies heroic nade kill and then Kierans nade suicide. Brilliant.

Ran well and the officers were brilliant.

Ah well, our adherence to the unwritten/misunderstood Geneva Convention made for a (much) longer battle!

Quite right Charlie. I had the nades all lined up but most likely would have only killed myself!

Though in your case, nearly giving yourself third degree burns from your own mortar is a dangerous escalation on the trend!
